Milestone for the Contracting book

The Complete Guide to Contracting Your Home has passed 250,000 copies in print.  Most publishers expect the shelf life of their non-fiction books to last 2-3 years at most.  The Complete Guide to Contracting Your Home has far exceeded that prediction.  After 10 years on the shelf, it is selling more copies today, than ever before.  In its third edition, Contracting has consistently topped its category on Amazon.com.

This success has spawned several new book projects, websites, discussion boards, and a e-Zine about home building and remodeling, called Self Made Homes.  Check it out.

The Sixth Extinction has arrived

Literally and figuratively.  The Sixth Extinction is my first novel. This project evolved from a dare made by a friend of mine to try my hand at fiction.  It didn't take long to realize that fiction was much more challenging to write than non-fiction.

After several years of struggle and learning, this project is nearing its conclusion, and the results are exciting.  While the story is a conventional thriller, its subject matter is chillingly close to the truth.  This fiction work may become non-fiction before too long.  You can read the first three chapters online.
